Simply one of the most awesomest stadium concerts. The LA Invasion lineup was sheer bad ass.
Although we were late, we made it into the "David Beckham Center" aka Home Depot Center of the LA Galaxy just in time to catch the main hits of Cypress Hill. (The aroma of maryjane was everywhere.)
Next up was Chris Cornell. Most singers tend to lose a bit of their voice after a number of years, but Chris still has the same power and intensity he had from the Soundgarden days. He is amazing. Well worth seeing live.
Then came Kid Rock. He opened up strong with Bawitabah (I think that's how its spelled?) with strippers at both sides of the stage. Of course at this point I was already tipsy throwing out the universal m/ sign when necessary. He is quite a skilled DJ though.
Velvet Revolver. I've been waiting to see them live for quite awhile. I already knew Scott Weiland with his stage charisma can entertain a crowd with his voice and physical gestures. So with the guitar power of former Guns & Roses guitarist, Slash, at his side I was already expecting something awesome. They of course did not disappoint. I got the awesome.
Foo Fighters... always awesome, great live. Fun dance, jump, head bang music.
Smashing Pumpkins, what can I say. I love them.
Their setlist was made for the hardcore fans and did not connect with the general KROQ audience. But ya know what, I'm the hardcore fan, so sucks to be them! They played for me
Thanks Billy for the memorable moments, that's why I love you guys.
Happy early Bday Kitty! Hope you enjoyed your present.
