  • How I Met Lisa Loeb

Lisa Loeb was at the Barnes & Noble @ the Grove on Friday night doing a mini acoustic set and signing.

Flashback 1995: Most of my peers crushed over Gwen Stefani, the uber hot vocalist of No Doubt. I, on the otherhand, had a secret crush on Lisa Loeb, but covered it up with my Gwen (trademark) "Tragic Kingdom" picture. At the time, liking Lisa Loeb, was not cool being that she was considered adult contempary and not of the popular alternative/punk/ska roots.

Back to the present 2008: Finally see Lisa Loeb in person... I was speechless. All I can do was say hi. It was lame, but at least we took a picture with her. 39 years old and still beautiful.

  • Rock Band: The Greatest Game

    www.rockband.com

I lied (thanks RoguePirate), Rock Band owns me.

It is probably the most expensive game I had ever bought.

    • Game $169.99

    • New Song Downloads $2 each x 41 = $82

    • TOTAL = +$250

Quite close to the cost of a Wii.

I never get tired of it simply because I challenge myself to play the guitar and sing the song at the same time on various difficulties.

Official: My New Drink for 2008

Goodbye Captain & Coke, hello Gin & Tonic!

I made the transition in 2007. Gin & Tonic is my official drink for 2008 and on.

I lost the taste for the sweetness of rum and coke. I know enjoy the crisp and clean drink of Gin & Tonic. Even when I spill it on myself (like running into glass sliding windows); NO STAINS!

  • Xanga It's Been Awhile

Oh Xanga, how could I neglect you...

    Update... since December 2007:

    • Drinking

    • Smoking

    • Eating

    • Partying

    • Dancing

    • Throwing Up

    • Running into glass sliding doors

    • Cleaning

  • I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
    I focus on the pain
    The only thing that's real
    The needle tears a hole
    The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
    But I remember everything

    What have I become?
    My sweetest friend
    Everyone I know
    Goes away in the end
    You could have it all
    My empire of dirt
    I will let you down
    I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit
    Upon my liar's chair
    Full of broken thoughts
    I cannot repair
    Beneath the stains of time
    The feelings disappear
    You are someone else
    I am still right here

  • Wedding Bells

A momentous occassion is upon us. The long-awaited wedding is finally here; today.

May Ron & You have a lifetime of joyous memories and moments to share with one another.

    Congratulations Ate.

  • Got Jacked

On Friday morning I went outside to head off to work only to find that my car had been broken into without damaging my car. I know my car was locked. So what was taken:

    • Backpack and inside:

      • Medical book

      • Notebook

      • Music Folder

      • Hugo Boss Select Cologne

    • MP3 Player

I seriously could careless about all the expensive stuff. What I really want is my NOTEBOOK. All my medical notes are in there... half a semester's worth.

But you know what, even though I have a medical term paper due on Wednesday with no notes to help me as well as a weekly test I am completely fine. Heck, I didn't let it get me down to ruin my Halloween weekend!

Still sucks though. I feel violated, but hey its just a backpack. There are people out there who have suffered far more worse (wild fires, hurricanes, etc). Deal with it, move on, keep my head up, and look forward to my sister's wedding (which I intend to do a power slide on the dance floor for the groomsmen/bridesmaid reception dinner entrance). "Oh my Gosh" is right.

  • Green with Envy

You know that thing you put in the toilet reservoir to make the water blue, well I saw the most beautiful emerald green after I did my usual morning piss in the loo. It was glorious.

Yes, I just wanted to share that.

  • Life in a Nutshell

Pretty much 6-7 weeks into the semester of school and I am utterly exhausted.

    Here's the schedule:

    • Tuesday:

      • WORK: 7:30am - 4pm

      • SCHOOL: 6pm - 10pm

    • Wednesday:

      • WORK: 7:30am - 4pm

      • SCHOOL: 6pm - 10pm

    • Thursday

      • WORK: 7:30am - 4pm

      • SCHOOL: 6pm - 10pm

In those 3 days I will already have driven at least 300 miles. Not to mention working on a few Saturdays as well and then driving to school to play in the pep band for the football game.

I can eliminate Tuesday and Thursday because its concert & pep band, but the benefits (although a few may say otherwise) are life rewarding. I play in concert band for my grandma because she always liked to see me play and I play in pep band to be part of something again. Can't really explain it. Its a fulfilling kind of thing. Playing music, whatever it is, and performing in front of a few people or a stadium is an awesome experience.

  • Hoodie Weather!

The weather is finally cooling enough to wear hoodies again! Yay!

I dig the snuggle cuddle warmth feeling of hoodies.

  • LA Invasion Report

Simply one of the most awesomest stadium concerts. The LA Invasion lineup was sheer bad ass.

Although we were late, we made it into the "David Beckham Center" aka Home Depot Center of the LA Galaxy just in time to catch the main hits of Cypress Hill. (The aroma of maryjane was everywhere.)

Next up was Chris Cornell. Most singers tend to lose a bit of their voice after a number of years, but Chris still has the same power and intensity he had from the Soundgarden days. He is amazing. Well worth seeing live.

Then came Kid Rock. He opened up strong with Bawitabah (I think that's how its spelled?) with strippers at both sides of the stage. Of course at this point I was already tipsy throwing out the universal m/ sign when necessary. He is quite a skilled DJ though.

Velvet Revolver. I've been waiting to see them live for quite awhile. I already knew Scott Weiland with his stage charisma can entertain a crowd with his voice and physical gestures. So with the guitar power of former Guns & Roses guitarist, Slash, at his side I was already expecting something awesome. They of course did not disappoint. I got the awesome.

Foo Fighters... always awesome, great live. Fun dance, jump, head bang music.

Smashing Pumpkins, what can I say. I love them. Their setlist was made for the hardcore fans and did not connect with the general KROQ audience. But ya know what, I'm the hardcore fan, so sucks to be them! They played for me Thanks Billy for the memorable moments, that's why I love you guys.

Happy early Bday Kitty! Hope you enjoyed your present.
