  • Cuts and Bruises

I was applying first aid on a friend of mine the other day and I couldn't help but feel really good taking care of someone when they needed it the most.

This same feeling transcended to thoughts of the type of friend I have been. I've never saw myself as a full time friend, but for the most part I typically find myself on the phone for an hour+ with a friend in distress, heart-broken, etc. When they are all retarded happy, I find myself stepping away into the shadows.

I disappear for months, come back. Fade in and fade out. I'm a camera trying to focus on its shot, but just cannot for some odd reason.

*Side note, I'm alone at work right now and I'm hearing weird light tapping in the ceiling... I need to get my bow and arrow from my car.

  • Muzzle

This Smashing Pumpkin song has a special place in my soul. I'd like it to be played when I move on to the next life.

I fear that I am ordinary, just like everyone
To lie here and die among the sorrows
    Adrift among the days
    For everything I ever said
And everything Ive ever done is gone and dead

    (chorus)
As all things must surely have to end
And great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

    My life has been extraordinary
    Blessed and cursed and won
Time heals but Im forever broken
    By and by the way...
Have you ever heard the words
    Im singing in these songs?
Its for the girl Ive loved all along
Can a taste of love be so wrong

    (chorus)

And in my mind as I was floating
    Far above the clouds
Some children laughed Id fall for certain
For thinking that Id last forever

But I knew exactly where I was
And I knew the meaning of it all
And I knew the distance to the sun
And I knew the echo that is love
And I knew the the secrets in your spires
And I knew the emptiness of youth
And I knew the solitude of heart
And I knew the murmurs of the soul
And the world is drawn into your hands
And the world is etched upon your heart
And the world so hard to understand
Is the world you cant live without
And I knew the silence of the world

  • One-Time

In the spirit of Valentines, here is a comprehensive list of my short-term dating failures:

    • Veggie Girl - Went out twice, my carnivorous style displeased her.

    • Emo Girl - She confused the hell out of me. Ultimately some of the emoness rubbed off.

    • Death Metal Girl - My taste in bands such as Saves the Day, Sugarcult, Smashing Pumpkins was no match for THE METAL. (I should have introduced her to Tea).

    • Young'en Girl - 5 years younger. Immaturity bugged the fuck out of me. Not because of her age, but the irresponsible things she would do.

    • Off Center Girl - Her thought process was beyond any imaginable wavelength. I say Apple, she said Swordfish.

    • Virtue Girl - Prude. Too pure. No fun.

    • Anticonformist Girl - Everyone and everything was a sellout to her. I didn't have the guts to tell her that she was conforming to anticonformist.

    • The One that Got Away Girl - I should have gone to the Riddlin' Kids show with her, but ended up going out with Virtue Girl instead. Regret.

    ... to be continued.

  • The Realm of the Uber Nerds

I bought a new XBOX 360 game called Oblivion. Its like Warcraft except not. Perhaps I can find the Sword of a Thousand Truths.

Note: The following material contains uber nerd talk.

In the real world I am a mild mannered Operations Manager. But in here, here I am a Red Mohawk Dark Elf Battle Mage Class born under the Warrior sign with a personal mission from the late Emperor whose dying words asked to find his sole heir to help stop the Gates of Oblivion from opening that will unleash an unslaught of demons from hell.

    Being a nerd is fun

Now if you'd excuse me, its time to level up my skills for future uber pwnage.

If you're reading this Tea... your influence did this to me!

  • Everything, but Country

Why do some people have the above statement when answering a "Favorite Music" question?

I understand that country music is not everyone's cup of tea, but answering with such a statement makes one to ponder if the person really enjoys everything else.

If the following statement is true, then one can perceive that the person also enjoys Opera, Showtunes, Classical, Romantic Classical Period pieces, New Age, Jazz, Swing, Chinese Pop, Japan Pop, Kazahkstan Pop, etc.

Of course, in many cases, this is not true. Everything, but country is a misleading statement. If it is true, kudos.

I am not refering to anyone's Myspace, Friendster, OhBeezy, etc profile in particular. The statement is from numerous sightings and has no direct reference to any particular individual. Basically, don't get all emo if you do have this statement in a profile.

  • Rexy not so Sexy

I lost my Superbowl bet and now I cannot feed the hungry children of the world with the winnings all thanks to Rexy Sexy.

    Ok, I'm fuckin' around.

So the commercials sucked this year. Only ones I found entertaining was the Snickers, Spotted Dog, and Chainsaw Bud Light commercial.

I refer the Snickers commercial because of its shock value it gave us. I was like, "oh geez HAHAHAHA." Any commercial that makes me react like that deserves some credit.

Spotted Dog, well it touched my heart and had a happy ending. Can't beat that.

Chainsaw Bud Light. Humor. I went, "haha." I was sold except Bud Light taste like carbonated Aquafina.

  • Happy Groundhog Day!

So its official, the groundhog didn't see his shadow which translates to an early spring. For us Californians, it is meaningless since its sunny/partly cloudy 300+ days a year.

If California had Groundhog like event what animal would it be? Would it be Paris Hilton's little dog? If it does not see its shadow does that signify an earlier summer?

Basically its, earlier summer, YEAH! Beach & Surfing!

...and for more winter it be, YEAH! Mountains & Snowboarding!

  • Friday, February 2, 2007, is National Wear Red Day

This is a day when Americans nationwide will take women's health to heart by wearing red to show their support for women's heart disease awareness.  The Heart Truthis:  "Heart Disease Doesn't Care What You Wear—It's the #1 Killer of Women."  The statistics are alarming:

    • Heart disease is the #1 killer of women.
    • One in 3 women dies of heart disease; 1 in 30 dies of breast cancer.
    • About 3 million American women have had a heart attack.
    • Nearly two-thirds of America women who die suddenly of a heart attack had no prior symptoms.
    • Two-thirds of American women who have had a heart attack don't make a full recovery.
The good news is that both men and women can lower their risk of heart disease by as much as 82 percent by leading a healthy lifestyle.  Join the national awareness movement by wearing red on February 2, and encourage your family, friends, and coworkers to do the same.  Anyone can participate by showing off a favorite red dress, shirt, or tie.

February has long been considered Heart Health Month because of Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, and all the connections between hearts and love. In 2004, several women's heart health efforts, including the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute's Heart Truth campaign were combined under the slogan "Go Red for Women." The focus changed from awareness to action, under the simple proposition that by loving your own heart, you can save it.

Thanks Deb for the heads up.
